Arrival at Thorpelee Homestead is after 3pm on day one, welcome is at 5pm where you will also receive informational handouts. Your walk begins the following day.
Ward is situated on the East Coast of the South Island, midway between Picton and Kaikoura.

Thorpelee Homestead is situated on the Beach Road loop, 2.4km walk or drive from Flaxbourne Tea rooms, State Highway 1 Ward. Buses from Christchurch and Picton will stop at the Flaxbourne Tea rooms by prior arrangement.
